Who needs it?

Vagino-plasty, or vaginal rejuvenation is meant for all women, who after delivery through by the lower way, but also due to aging, or muscles in a poor state, wish to retighten their vaginal muscular floor so that they can increase their sexual sensitivity, or avoid the organs’ collapse.

Aims

The operation aims at reducing the inside  and outside diameter of the vagina, fortifying the perineum and reinforcing the muscles.

At the sexual level, this will intensify frictions leading to greater sexual pleasure and better orgasms. Practitioners warn nevertheless about thinking that vagino-plasty can never be a remedy for sexual troubles or a libido cure, or even to have orgasms when we have never had them before: it is simply and merely to repair a vagina that has been “badly treated” through use and under special circumstances.

Vagino-plasty is just a “refurbishing’ of an elongated vagina due to frequent pregnancies. The symptoms of effort incontinence may be linked to a strained vagina. In such a case, the surgeon can treat both problems at the same time and carry out the two operations at one go.

Before the operation

The ideal time for undertaking vaginal surgery is just after the periods of a month. Thus, when the following comes in, the tissues will be by then already healed. If you can, just make sure that the date of your planned trip to Tunis coincides with that very moment.

If the flow of the menstrual blood had occurred before the full healing of the stitches, there wouldn’t be any worrying complications. The operation can be performed likewise but this may cause some inconvenience and increase the risk of infections.

You need no prior preparation of any special kind and you can go on having your usual sexual activity until the night before the operation.

Vagino-plasty is carried out under epidural anesthesia.

Operation

To reduce the size of your vagina, the surgeon effects two parallel inside incisions all along the vagina starting at the inlet orifice and going deep inside. If the flaccidity is minor (light), the surgeon cuts and only removes a longitudinal strip of the mucous membrane and then stitches to put together the resulting pleats. On the contrary, if the flaccidity is important, he/she creates another pleat/fold with the muscles that are exposed through the same incisions effected in the mucous.

The vaginal muscles will acquire a greater tension as well as a more significant capacity for contraction.

Duration of the operation

A vagino-plasty lasts approximately two hours.

After the operation

When leaving the operating theater, you will be taken into your room, and you will have a stake in synthetic material inside your vagina, to keep it in shape throughout the healing process. This stake is soft, flexible and covered with an impermeable layer to avoid any sensation of unease when wearing it. You should keep it twenty four hours a day during the first week and only during sleep for the following two weeks.

After surgical effects

You will probably have some ecchymoses in the areas close to the vagina that will go down to the level of the thighs and which will fade away a few days later.

The stitches are made of absorbable threads. The scars remain hidden in the vagina and will be impalpable at the touch. The healing characteristics of the vaginal tissues are particularly excellent.

You must take a long rest during the 2 days following the operation; you can walk around as early as the first day. The 21st day following the operation, you can start having sex again with deep penetration.

Results

The results of a vagino-plasty are most obviously long-lasting. A vagino-plasty does not stop you in any way from delivering another baby.

Your rejuvenated vagina will allow you to enjoy sex and feel more intense pleasure and will boost your self confidence that might have been lost at one point. The fact that you are now more contracted will provide your partner with a more pleasurable sexual feeling. You will recover the true sensations that you had before and that you thought you had lost for ever.

Complications

If performed by a well qualified and properly trained surgeon, a vagino-plasty presents very few risks. However, any surgical operation, no matter how insignificant it may be, is likely to have complications and we should think of it as a possibility.
