Recovery

Your recovery will take place in peace and ideal relaxation, under mild and beneficial sunshine, facing the Mediterranean sea: ChirurgiePro partner hotels will welcome you for a few days of relaxation and well being.

The day you leave the clinic, your personal escort will accompany you to your hotel and will take care of all administrative formalities regarding your hotel check-in.

As far as check-up examinations are concernedChirurgiePro will take your appointments, and will also see to your shuttle transfers. You will be examined once or twice by your doctor, or even more if necessary: once after the operation, and in general a second time the day before your departure. If your operation requires post-surgical care (injections, changing bandages, …), a nurse will come to your hotel to see to it. Your escort, your surgeon, and the other members of ChirurgiePro team, will take care of you, and will regularly make sure that your recovery is going swiftly and under the best circumstances. During the recovery period at the hotel, you can read, have walks along the beach, breathe sea air, get acquainted with other ChirurgiePro patients staying at the hotel, etc.

The recovery stay will be truly beneficial. Having undergone the operation, several of our patients manage to seize the moment and make the best of whatever opportunity they are given. Indeed:

• It is true that in their country, generally speaking, after an operation, their stay at a clinic does not exceed 24 to 48 hours. Just after the operation, the patients return home still very tired, and they often find themselves in a situation where they have to run and perform their daily tasks (children, home, meals, stress).
• In addition, this stay for recovery will allow them to go back home without “marks” as a result of the operation, such as bruises, scabs, etc. They find it much easier to “hide” the operation from colleagues, family, or friends. Often, most patients tell their nearest and dearest that their trip to Tunisia was for sightseeing, and not for medical treatment.
• Last, this recovery stay will enable you to engage in some touristic activities*: the village of Sidi Bou Said, the Carthage site, the Medina of Tunis … a half a day excursion will be on the menu to enable you to discover the wonders of Tunis and its surroundings. This tour will be organized the day before your departure: it will also allow you to take some souvenirs of Tunisia with you to your nearest and dearest. You will leave with a sense of satisfaction.

*Important remark : we do say “a little tourism” because we are well aware that the aim of your trip is first and foremost for medical purposes. These few days after your operation must be for you a means that will allow you to recover swiftly and fully and then return home in great shape. Your health is a top priority, engaging in some kind of tourism must not in any way cause you any fatigue, or impede your recovery. The scheduled excursion has been designed to be of a short duration, and compliant with all post-surgical recommendations given by your surgeon.
