Hymenoplasty

For whom?

For women who under certain socio-cultural circumstances feel that the loss of virginity may be considered as a dramatic/tragic event with very important psychological consequences.

Aims

The hymenoplasty consists in a possible reconstruction of the hymen without leaving any visible traces. The aim of a hymenoplasty is therefore to allow you to regain a feeling of well being. Obviously, hymenoplasty is practiced paying great respect to the patient and ensuring confidentiality to the best.

Before the operation

The ideal time for undertaking vaginal surgery is just after the periods of a month. Thus, when the following comes in, the tissues will be by then already healed. If you can, just make sure that the date of your planned trip to Tunis coincides with that very moment.

If the flow of the menstrual blood had occurred before the full healing of the stitches, there wouldn’t be any worrying complications. The operation can be performed likewise but this may cause some inconvenience and increase the risk of infections.

You need no prior preparation of any special kind and you can go on having your usual sexual activity until the night before the operation.

Operation

Using very thin stitches, the surgeon (male or female) re-assembles fragments of the hymen that are always forming a part of the vagina together. So that the fragments constitute once again an organic whole as they used to be before the rupture, it will be necessary to carry out a small incision prior to this; the incision will be in the edges of each fragment, in such a way that during the healing process, they will remain united together.

It may happen that inside your vagina, no fragments of the hymen are usable, either because the former are too reduced, or because you were born without hymen. In such cases, your surgeon (male or female) can reduce the opening of the orifice, using a small part of the vaginal mucous so that a result is obtained which at a functional level is equivalent to the hymen.

Duration of the operation

The hymen reconstruction as an operation lasts 1 hour on average.

After the operation

You will have a bandage over the vulvas. You must observe a relative rest for 24 hours during which you can walk. It is possible that you may lose some blood without major importance during the 48 to 72 hours after the operation. The days that follow, you can resume your daily activities in a progressive and gradual manner.

Surgical after effects

30 days after the operation you can once again engage into sexual contact with deep penetration during which your hymen reacts as if you had been losing your virginity.

Results

The hymen reconstruction will allow you to face the following penetration as if you were a virgin, without any fear of deceiving the cultural or religious expectations that may weigh heavily on your conscience.

Complications

If performed by a well qualified and properly trained surgeon, a hymeno-plasty presents very few risks. However, any surgical operation, no matter how insignificant it may be, is likely to have complications and we should think of it as a possibility.

Work interruption

There is no need for interrupting the work: the recovery stay spent in Tunisia following the operation is very beneficial and enables most of our patients to resume their professional activities as soon as they return home.
