The Genioplasty

The surgery of the chin permits to correct several imperfections : unobtrusive, remote, too prominent, or intended forward chin. The anomalies of the chin often cause an aesthetic discomfort, it is then possible to reduce, to reinforce or to skim the chin according to the cases.

For the receding chin, we place before the bone an implant of silicone by an incision under the chin or inside the mouth. A bandage is worn for one week and the patient must have a liquid or semi-liquid food for some months. Inflations and oedemas are expected for 10 - 20 days after the intervention. The aspect of the chin will be definitive within 3 months.

For the undershot jaw, we resect or grind the bony protrusion by an incision concealed under the chin and we withdraw the fat and fibro-greasy cloth excess. The patient wears a modelling bandage for 5 - 6 days.

The definitive result is visible at the end of nearly one month and a half.
